About Us

Our Artists and Collections

WE HAVE MOVED and created a new gallery name to go with our new location, vision and purpose. My Happy Place Gallery has merged with the Red Awning Gallery located in The HUB Station, the Arts and Business Center located at 145 Cedar Valley Rd. Hudson NC. As a premier cooperative nonprofit, Western North Carolina Society of Artisans, INC dba The Red Awning Gallery art gallery in Hudson promotes and showcases the work of  local artisans.

During the summer Western North Carolina Society, INC. dba The Red Awning Gallery has acquired Its 501(c)3 nonprofit status and we soon will be getting a new and separate website in the near future.

The Red Awning Gallery has also been entered as part of The Blue Ridge Craft Trail along with the HUB Station Art Center. So much as changed at the HUB and continues to amaze us with all the activity in spite of Covid-19 restrictions. We're hoping that next summer all planned activities will be able to resume.

We are excited about starting our primary program, Artisans As Entrepreneurs. The gallery is more than just a place to display our work we are here to help create sustainable independent Entrepreneurs.  If you want to start an artisan, handmade business but aren't exactly sure about how to do it we can help you. If you have been struggling with your handmade business and can't get beyond it being a hobby, this is the place for you. We will be accepting only 5 new members for the prototype 2021 program that will begin in January. You can join us as we all go through the process for the first time and have an input as we tweak the program's design.

We will officially start our program in June 2021.

This website will become about Bev Mihelich's work and classes. She will still be displaying and supporting the the vision and mission of our official nonprofit status. She is in the process of acquiring a vintage Airstream she hopes to transform into a rolling gallery, with this business name in the next couple of years.
